Saturday
We encourage you to check out breakfast, brunch, and lunch options in Middlebury.
Get thee to the ceremony site!
The human scale of our small village is one of the reasons Middlebury is so special to us, so we have designed the event so that it can be accessed by foot or bicycle for those who are interested and able to do so. Anyone interested in walking or biking from the village center can join us on the Middlebury town green at 1:00pm (Parking map). You have 4 options to get to the ceremony:
- Those on foot will depart at 1:30 pm and take a direct 1.75-mile route.
- Bikes will depart at 1:40 pm and take a more leisurely 2.5-mile bicycle parade.
- If you don’t want to bike and prefer a shorter walk, you can park on the Middlebury College campus at McCardell Bicentennial Hall (.75 mile walk from the ceremony site). We recommend parking by 2:00 pm.
- If walking .75 mile would be difficult for you, a shuttle will make three round trips from McCardell Bicentennial Hall staring at 1:45pm.
Ceremony
When: 2:30 pm
Where: The Knoll, Middlebury College’s organic garden. Parking is not available at The Knoll (see directions above)
Attire: Whatever makes you feel like a snazzy version of yourself.*
The ceremony will include a group sing-a-long of the song A Gathering of Spirits by Carrie Newcomer. If you’re not familiar with the song and want to be ready to sing with us, check it out: Audio | Lyrics
After the ceremony we’ll hang out, nibble on some appetizers, play lawn games, and enjoy the garden. At some point in the late afternoon we’ll make our way to the reception location. The shuttle will make multiple runs from the garden between 3:30 pm and 5:15 pm. You can take this back to the McCardell Bicentennial Hall Parking Lot or you can request a ride all the way back to the Town Green/Town Hall Theater (where the reception will be).
*Please refrain from wearing scented body care products, as some of our guests have fragrance allergies
